Terrible TWO's

So Ethan is not quite 2 yet, but man has he hit his terrible twos! I have always heard the expression "terrible two's" but was kinda like ya right it's just another age, but boy was I WRONG! So were do I begin... first of all he is mister independent he has to do everything by him self, he likes to drink out of a normal cup by himself (usually spills most of it) he likes to dress and undress himself which I must admit is quite annoying when I'm trying to run out the door or get a naked boy dressed after bath time! 2nd he LOVES to be NAKED as I think alot of babies do but dang kid can I please put your diaper on?? One morning I woke up to Ethan naked is his crib no jammies no onesie and NO DIAPER and yes if you must know there was POOP everywhere ahhhh...right into the bath he went. He loves to walk all by himself he used to be really good at holding hands but now he loves his pockets so his hand go in his pockets then I have nothing to hold and if I pick him up he screams the second I get him out of his car seat he wants to "get down". Lastly he thinks he is too big for his high chair (which really when do you retire the high chair) so I bought him a booster seat that straps to the kitchen chair so he can sit and be high enough but he won't sit in that either so what does he do he wants to stand on the chair which usually means by the time the food gets from the spoon to his mouth half of it is in his lap! So where do I draw the line do I make him sit in the high chair, or let him walk by himself into albertsons? I don't want to be a super strict mom and make him scream until he sits or holds my hand etc...but I don't want him to think he ALWAYS gets what he wants so any suggestions? After all that venting I LOVE ETHAN so much, my life would not be the same without the little guy he brings me so much joy, laughter and excitment to my life, he is a blessing for sure! P.S. right now he is going on a 4 1/2 hour nap YAY, I guess I better go check on him huh!!

I say pick your battles...if it's a safety thing he doesn't have a choice...if it's just a mess thing (like no high chair) as annoying as that is I say let him do it. he'll probably actually learn to eat neater faster. What is it with stubbornness in this family? He must get it from his uncle Rich! As far as the 4 hour nap goes...SWEET...I wish he got that from me, but I honestly can't remember the last time I got to take a nap! He's cute as heck! Love ya!

D'Laina, I think you are an awesome mother!

As for the terrible twos...In some ways, this too shall pass. In others, you're just getting started!

All I can say is LET THE FUN BEGIN! I'm with your aunt pick your battles! With me I think it's a fine line once they get away with it they think they always will. I still make Kelly sit in the cart because it is so stressful when your trying to get shopping done and your kid is pulling everything off the shelf. But now she knows she has to sit in the cart and its not a big deal. I think it's about a routine you can't let him do it sometimes and then not, it's a yes or a no! But then again you know my kids and they are no angels!!!

Sienna hasn't quite hit the terrible twos yet, I will probably take this back later, but I really don't think she will hit it as hard as most other kids seem to. She is just too chill!! Haha, but that's probably because we hardly leave the house, so whenever we do go to the store or something its like fun for us haha!

I say tighten up the reigns right now. It's always easier to loosen them up when they get older. But once they learn who the "boss" is, it's near impossible to reign 'em back in. Yes, pick your battles, but at this age...pretty much everything is a battle. I'm not looking forward to dealing with this again!!!
